Modern SlaveryStatement
Our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains.
1. Introduction
This statement is made pursuant to Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Enviro24 Midlands Limited has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, human trafficking, and forced labour. Enviro24 Midlands Limited has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all business dealings and to putting effective systems and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain.
2. Our Business
Enviro24 Midlands Limited is a portable toilet and welfare unit hire company operating across the West Midlands and Worcestershire. We provide sanitation solutions for events, construction sites, and commercial clients.
Our business operates from our headquarters in Kidderminster and Birmingham, employing staff directly and working with a network of suppliers for equipment, consumables, and ancillary services.
3. Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains include:
• Manufacturers and suppliers of portable toilets and welfare units
• Suppliers of cleaning materials, consumables, and sanitation products
• Vehicle suppliers and maintenance providers
• Uniform and workwear suppliers
• Professional services providers
We conduct due diligence on new suppliers and regularly review existing suppliers to ensure they share our commitment to combating modern slavery.
4. Our Policies
We operate a number of internal policies to ensure we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:
• Recruitment Policy: We operate a robust recruitment process, including conducting eligibility to work in the UK checks for all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.
• Whistleblowing Policy: We encourage all employees, customers, and suppliers to report any concerns related to our direct activities or supply chain. This includes any circumstances that may give rise to an enhanced risk of slavery or human trafficking.
• Supplier Code of Conduct: We expect all suppliers to adhere to high ethical standards and to operate in compliance with all applicable laws, including the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
5. Due Diligence Processes
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, we have implemented the following due diligence processes:
• We assess the risk of modern slavery occurring within our supply chain based on the nature of the goods or services provided and the geographical location of suppliers.
• We require all new suppliers to complete a self-certification questionnaire confirming their compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
• We include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour in our contracts with suppliers.
• We conduct periodic audits and reviews of our supply chain to ensure ongoing compliance.
• We verify employment practices of contractors and agency workers.
6. Risk Assessment and Management
We have assessed the risk of modern slavery occurring within our business and supply chain and consider the risk to be low. However, we remain vigilant and continue to review our risk assessment regularly. We recognise that certain sectors and regions may present higher risks, and we take additional steps to mitigate these risks where necessary.
7. Training
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to relevant staff members. This training covers how to identify the signs of modern slavery, what steps to take if they suspect modern slavery is occurring, and how to report concerns.
8. Performance Indicators
We will measure our effectiveness in ensuring that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our business or supply chains by monitoring the number of staff trained, the number of supplier audits conducted, the number of concerns raised through our whistleblowing procedure, and the actions taken in response to any concerns raised.
9. Reporting Concerns
If you have any concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking in relation to our business or supply chain, please contact us immediately. We take all reports seriously and will investigate any concerns raised. Reports can be made confidentially and without fear of retaliation.
10. Board Approval
This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Enviro24 Midlands Limited and will be reviewed and updated annually.
